For the past few months, the prevention passport has been in the news for companies that train their personnel in occupational health and safety. Who is the Prevention Passport for?

Workers, job seekers, companies or training centers are concerned by this regulatory document.

Employees and job seekers will be able to fill in their information on a platform made available by the state and consult it in order to highlight certain skills acquired during the various training courses. The activation of this platform will be at the discretion of the individual. By activating it, they can be informed of their rights and if necessary approach their employer to carry out the necessary training.

Employers will be able to submit the certificates and diplomas of employees who have completed the training courses offered by the company. These documents must be related to occupational health and safety.

The training centers will have the same obligations as the companies and will thus have to file all the elements.

What is the purpose of this new document put in place by the state?

The main objective of the prevention passport, resulting from the Law of August 2, 2021 N° 2021-1018, is to prevent risks in terms of health and safety at work. To avoid them, it is essential to train employees. By gathering all the elements, employers have a global vision of the various training courses carried out and can thus preserve their personnel.

Among the potential risks in business, we can find for example:

  • Biological hazards
  • Radiological risks
  • Chemical hazards
  • Risks related to equipment and machinery
  • The working environment
  • Psychological risks

In April 2023, all those who have taken a training course will be able to find their prevention passport on their cpf account and thus attest to the acquisition of skills. The information on the account can be shared. In the case of a job search, for example, this will allow the candidate to enhance his or her skills.
